Random Selection (Sortition)
Leaving the decision entirely to chance. Historically used in ancient Athens to select officials, now used when you just can't decide.
Why use it?
- 100% fair and unbiased.
- Zero cognitive load or 'decision fatigue'.
- Impossible to argue with the result (it's fate).
Why it fails
- You might get an option you hate (unless you filter first).
- Lacks the 'human element' of consensus.
- Can feel arbitrary if stakes are high.
