Ranked Choice Voting
A system where voters rank candidates by preference. If no one wins a majority, the lowest-ranked option is eliminated and votes are transferred.
Why use it?
- Fairer for large elections with many candidates.
- Reduces the 'spoiler effect' in politics.
- Allows expression of backup preferences.
Why it fails
- Overkill for choosing a pizza topping.
- Requires everyone to fully understand the rules.
- Takes too long to tally for a quick decision.
